Despite concerns last winter that Park Ridge's annual fireworks display may have to find a new home due to a construction project, Maine East High School will in fact host the event again this year.

The 2006 Park Ridge Fireworks will take place on the high school grounds at 2601 Dempster St., beginning at dusk on Monday, July 3. The event is hosted by the city of Park Ridge, the Park Ridge Recreation and Park District, the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society and the Park Ridge Kiwanis Clubs.

The park district estimates approximately 10,000 people will view the display this year.

The fireworks display is funded by community donations and sponsorships from local businesses.
